Kodiak brand was introduced in 1981 by the American Snuff Company. It is a premium moist smokeless tobacco brand with Wintergreen, Mint, and Straight Long Cut styles, as well as Wintergreen Pouches. Kodiak is the third largest premium brand in the moist smokeless tobacco category.

After extensive study of demographics using smokeless tobacco products, JPD and Source collaborated to update the Kodiak brand packaging. Together, the studios designed an extensive array of three-dimensional tins with different graphic themes based on the Kodiak bear and its environment, strengthening the series, while enabling each package to communicate its unique personality and style. We were also asked to come up with new ergonomic ways for the tins to be opened.
